Long Live the Queen

Our first assembly of the new school year recognised the fact that the Queen had become the longest reigning monarch. The death of the King had been announced to the school by Bill Brookes in this Great Hall. The Governing Body had gifted the Coronation lanterns the next year and these will be refurbished and reinstalled in the coming weeks to mark the occasion. The Queen made  a Coronation promise – a resolution and the start of term is often the time for resolutions. They must be challenging and achievable at the same time; they must be entirely within your compass to achieve them – no one else to blame or rely on, just you; and they are achieved with effort. Mindset is key: good, well chosen resolutions and a positive, developmental mindset will take you far this year.
